Children & Young People Workshops

If anything is unclear, see below for more details

About the Sessions

Our workshops and assemblies for children and young people explore, in age-appropriate language, some of the critical issues and challenges experienced by children and young people who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans or in the process of exploring their sexual orientation and/or gender identity (LGBT+). Together we will examine how these issues may impact them and their emotional and social wellbeing.

Our aim is to leave students with;

  • A better understanding of the experiences of their LGBT+ peers

  • More confidence in being an ally to LGBT+ people

  • Knowledge about LGBT+phobic bullying and ways to stop it

How long are you able to allocate to this session?

1 hour (highly recommended)

‍For young people we recommend around an hour. These sessions are tailored to the age group/learning level and provide all the information students will need to be an ally to their peers. If your school timetable is based around slightly shorter lessons, we can also accommodate this. Our workshops are for a maximum of 50 students per session and start at £195 per hour plus travel.

Under 1 Hour (e.g assembly)

Assemblies can be up to 30 minutes and prices depend on your location.

Assemblies and workshops cost £150 per hour plus travel. It may be more cost effective for your school to buy our Annual Contract.

“I was so impressed by the way you created such a safe learning environment; enabled the children to explore key learning about difference; identity and LGBT identity and prejudice as well as challenging assumptions and sharing personal experiences so meaningfully. It was a privilege to be a part of this learning”

"How many hours are you able to allocate to the session(s)?"

3 hours (highly recommended)

‍These are incredibly complex topics, for professionals we highly recommend 3 hour long sessions (with a break halfway through) so as to make sure all the topics are covered in detail. Shorter sessions can be accommodated but there will be less time for valuable discussions and exploration.

"How would you like this training to take place?"

Online

‍Online training is perfect for any team who work remotely. We predominantly use Zoom for our training (other video call platforms are an option) and we require all participants to join from individual devices.

In person

‍In person training is the best option for any team who work in one location, and can be particularly engaging, with more space for individual discussions and less concerns about internet connections! Please note, we are based in the south-east of England. This may impact our ability to deliver training in person.

Training starts at £195 per hour plus travel. If you are booking training on behalf of a school, it may be more cost effective for your school to buy our Annual Contract.

Consultancy

Are you really stuck with how to improve LGBT+ awareness, inclusion and safety in your organisation?

Our LGBT+ Training and/or Trans Training cover many important issues and leave participants with much better knowledge and greater confidence to support, and be an ally to, LGBT+ people.

However, sometimes organisations have a unique set of needs, or are dealing with specific challenges that require more specialist support, additional time, and bespoke input from us. This can become apparent during our training sessions when we don’t have time to fully address this.

This is where our Consultancy Service can provide solutions. There is no set structure to our consultancy support - it will be tailored to your needs. Sessions can be:

  • with individuals, teams or whole organisations

  • In-person or by video/phone call

  • As little as a one-off hour, or a series of sessions across whatever timeframe we agree
